This is one of my favourite videos floating around Youtube. Again and again I go back to Proverbs 31 reminding myself God has created me for his purpose. I think my favourite line in this video is the one that says a man will go to Christ for your heart, knowing that it is in his possession. It sends shivers down my spine, and a glow in my heart. Please watch this video, man or woman. It is so beautifully spoken.

The people who come into your life
I've always believed that people come into your life for a reason. This past month has had blessing after blessing come into my life. Since I started dancing, I have had the pleasure of getting to know some amazing people. Patricia, Jane, Carina, Judith, Christina and Dave.
My birthday weekend was filled with laughter, hugs, dancing and many many pictures! Went to the Blue Lagoon for some social salsa dancing, had the pleasure of dancing with many skilled dancers and I'm sure I improved just by dancing with them! Saturday was my house party, had many of my friends over and I had a blast! The last guests left at 4am... guess I throw good parties!
Sunday was my favourite day of all. Patricia, Judith and I walked down Corydon and Osborne, soaking up the beautiful weather and some fresh air. We all went to Judiths, Carina and Christina joined us, we broke out the guitar, violin and many beautiful voices and had a mini jam session. And yes, I broke out the Opera voice... Dave and Babou joined us afterward for home made guacamole, chips, bread and brie and had a fantastic night! I LOVE my new friends. They make me feel alive. God has blessed me SO much this year!

Dancing...
I have started to take Latin Dance lessons.
It started with Salsa on Wednesday nights, and now I can't stop! Saturday night there was a Latin dance party at the studio where I take my classes and I learned a new latin dance, which I LOVE. It's called the Bachata. It was so simple to learn, but a big impact on the dance floor. I want to continue taking lessons and learn every type of latin dance I can. Then, I will most likely move on to ballroom :)
I love to dance.

Amazing Valentines week!
Last week has got to be, hands down, the best week of this year so far. It all started off at the Kingshead pub on Sunday night hanging out with Judith, while fending off the advances of two drunk "jets players" and listening to great live music. That was an interesting night! Monday was great seeing as it was my day off. Cleaned a bit, did some errands, drove my dad to his occupational therapy and enjoyed some starbucks while the sun was beating down on me making me smile as I zipped around town.
Tuesday was a day I had been dreading. I had thought, well maybe this year I will actually have a date for valentines day! Well, as it turns out, I had 3 dates! But not what you'd expect. The day started out lovely at work, had some lovely clients. I went home, made myself some pasta and poured myself some delicious wine and hunkered down to settle in for an evening of feeling sorry for myself and watching sappy romantic movies. well, a little while after I was done my meal I heard giggling and running around upstairs. I went to go see what was going on and my two roommates, Alanna and Becky were running around trying on each others different dresses and getting themselves glammed up for a night on the town. I spent time helping them decide what to wear, then Alanna asked "hey! Would you like to join us?!" I thought for a minute, and I decided what the heck, why not! GOOD DECISION!!! I got all dressed up in a black dress, heels and my fur jacket. We all headed out, grabbed Chelsea as she pulled up and we headed down to Joeys on Kenaston. We ordered appetizers, desserts and drinks. Halfway through the night we heard live music going on and went over to the lounge to listen. My roommates and I decided it would be fun to steal the mic from them, so it turned into a night of open mic singing, dancing and giggles. We didn't leave til about 12:30am.
Wednesday was another great amazing day! I had one of my favourite clients in, we chatted and had some good laughs, I got some great advice from her (which I promptly forgot this weekend. Oi vey!) then that night I had my first Salsa dancing class. Judith and I arrived, I was nervous since Its something new and that's scary! The class started, it was so much fun! We learned the basic step, a right turn and an across body move. At the end of the lesson they started an open dance evening where people can come and practice. This older gentleman was very sweet, he saw I had potential and decided to help me practice a bit. Then he proceeded to teach me how to do the Cha Cha! I didn't expect to learn two dances in one evening. I hope to learn more! He tried to teach me the Rhumba but we stuck to salsa and cha cha. I ended up dancing with several partners which was so much fun! It's great dancing with guys who are a strong lead and know how to dance!
Thursday was dinner with the parents which is always a good time, eating good food and enjoying the company of my somewhat annoying brother and the charming company of my sister-in-law.
Friday was youth, the second installment of the "dating or waiting" series. It was awkwardly funny and a good time after playing Apples to Apples. Has anyone ever heard that the cards you win at the end, the descriptive cards, express some hidden part of your personality? Well, if that is true, then my personality holds these character traits "filthy, shallow and dead" hmmmm... you've gotta wonder...
Saturday was the mixer for Soul sanctuary. It was a great time! Hung out with a new friend, then proceeded to show off my athletic skills while curling. There were no injuries thank goodness, but I'm pretty sure I didn't impress many people with my skills... Lets just say that when God was handing out athletic ability, I must have been in the bathroom because I have ZERO ability for sports. But I do like to try!
So that is my week, it was a great one by far. One of the best that I've had in such a long time and I thank God for blessing me with amazing people in my life. If you've read through this huge entry, congrats! You are a true friend! Take care and God bless everyone!

Losing focus
God slapped me back into reality this week.
I became a bit pre-occupied with certain events and people that I lost focus on what this year was supposed to be about. It's funny how quickly it can happen. I'm hopefully back on track now. It stung a little bit, but it's nothing a few good friends and laughter can't take care of. Rejection is never fun, but if it's what needs to be done to get me back on track with God and what he wants for me, then it was all worth it. The sting will fade, I am NEVER rejected by God.
On a different note, I saw a good friend perform with her band at Dylan's pub tonight. It's been a long time since I have seen any live music and I must say, I really missed it. I can't express how much I love music. I live it, and I breathe it. It lives in my soul.
And apparently I get quite poetic when I talk about music... hah, who knew!
G'nite everyone.

Trusting God
I really have to try to trust God more. He knows what is best for me but sometimes I worry and fret over the littlest things. God only wants the best for me, so why is it so darn hard?!?

God even answers the prayers you didn't know you said
I got a piano yesterday...
For free.
God really answered that prayer for me. I wasn't even outright asking for a piano. My soul was aching to make music again. God heard that ache and decided to give me an outlet :) I am so so so excited to start practicing seriously again. Here come the hours and hours of scales and hanon! Oh how I will annoy my roommates with the technical side of piano. First things first...
I have to file down my beautiful nails :(

Being Productive
Today I have been very productive. Well, for me that is :)
I cleaned and reorganized my room, put my new sheets on the bed and it looks lovely! I love a clean room. I'm also in the process of making a red wine soy sauce marinade stir fry with steak, peppers, onions and mushrooms on a nice steaming bed of rice.
I love being domestic. I wish that could be my full time job. But that usually includes kids in the picture and I'm not sure yet if I even want kids. So, next goal... become a corporate wife?? Hahahahahaha yeah, we'll see about that pipe dream.

Girlfriends are a necessity
I've recently begun hanging out with a group of girls from my church. I've known them for a long time, but never really hung out much with them. God sure gives us what we need, when we need it. I was invited to a birthday party last weekend and it was one of the most fun times I've had in a long time. I just want to say thank you to those girls (you know who you are ;)) I am blessed to have those lovely women in my life.
On a completely different note, I have started re-watching the show Roswell. For those who don't know what this is, please please, for your own good, watch it!! Its such a blast from the past, not to mention some yummy eye candy as well as high entertainment value. I'm such a nerd sometimes.

Resolutions
ok, so maybe I do have a few resolutions for this new year. they're all pretty much like any other, eat well, drink a lot more water than I normally do, which is pretty much nothing unless you count tea, and finally, get the beach body I've always dreamed of. Some are more realistic than others obviously, but what is a new years resolution without a little fantasy?!

Cooking is fun!
Since I have moved out, I have discovered that I love to cook. I have made so many tasty dishes that its a wonder I haven't grown larger than a hippo. I've also found out that I LOVE to grocery shop! And yes, i grocery shop when I'm hungry! That's when I get the best ideas!
I made taco soup this evening because I was craving it so badly when I was at work. Its one of the best comfort foods I have eaten. I love soup in general, but there is something exquisitely wonderful about a yummy, hearty, slightly spicy soup. And you put sour cream in it. 'Nough said. Anyone have some great recipes they'd like to share?
